Luca Raineri

Current Affiliation: Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies (Pisa)

Dr Luca Raineri is a researcher in security studies. His work investigates transnational phenomena of security relevance (terrorism, organized crime, migration, climate change) with reference to the EU extended Mediterranean neighborhood and Africa at large. Dr Raineri holds one master degree in political theory from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris, and one in Human Rights and Conflict Management from the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa. He obtained a PhD in Global Politics and Human Rights from the same institution, while being a member of the Research School on peace and conflict in Oslo. Dr Raineri has also worked as a consultant for numerous research centers and international organizations dealing with peacebuilding, security and development.
