On 04/04/2024, Prof. Narbone commented on the recent Israeli attack on the Iranian embassy complex in Damascus in an article signed by Silvia Ricciardi for ItaliaOggi.

In the interview, Prof. Narbone contextualised the attack, probably of Israeli origin, which led to the assassination of three senior Revolutionary Guards officers. The attack would be part of Netanyahu’s strategy to prolong the war and manage domestic and international pressure by demonstrating military superiority.

Prof. Narbone tried to imagine a possible Iranian response, weighing its implications for the whole Middle East scenario. As the fronts of the conflict widen, the risk of a large-scale outbreak of violence in Syria and Lebanon seems increasingly possible.
