Russian Repertoires of Power in the MENA region (RUSMENA)

LUISS University, 01/06/2022

On the 1st of June, a round table discussion was organised at Luiss University in cooperation with the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI).

This closed workshop brought together a small group of participants from the academia and the policymakers community with the RUSMENA project team led by Dr Jakub M. Godzimirski (NUPI).

Discussions focused on the Russian policy-making processes and power practices in the MENA region and North Africa. During the workshop, the participants reflected on recent developments and long-term trends in order to generate relevant policy recommendations.

This event was one of the very first activities of the Mediterranean Platform within the Luiss ecosystem.

The round table was organised within the NUPI project ‘Russian repertoires of power in the MENA region’ (RUSMENA) framework and was part of a two-day event in Italy, one in Rome in collaboration with Luiss University and the other with the European University Institute (EUI) in Fiesole.
