Virginie Collombier was hosted by RFI's Grand Invité Afrique.
On September 11, Professor Virginie Collombier appeared on Radio France Internationale’s podcast Le Grand Invité Afrique with Christophe Boisbouvier to discuss the reconstruction of Derna.
She highlighted that while the rebuilding efforts seem to be progressing, financial transparency is still lacking. Collombier also noted that the Haftar clan, particularly General Haftar’s son Belgassim, who is overseeing the project, is using the reconstruction to consolidate power and favor allies.
The conversation then covered Libya’s political situation, the Central Bank’s role, relations with the Tripoli-based government, and recent developments.
The interview is available in French.
