On 18 December 2024 Élise Daniaud Oudeh, PhD candidate at Luiss University and our Associate Researcher, answered french journalist Justine Brabant of Mediapart and stressed the neo-colonial nature of the Russian presence in Syria.

As she explained, the Syrians want to turn this page to finally “be a sovereign state, in charge of their country, without foreign actors, even regional ones, who have no place there.”
