On 15 May 2025, the Italian newspaper Italia Oggi published an in-depth interview with our Director, Prof. Luigi Narbone, who commented on Trump’s recent trip to the Middle East.

Prof. Narbone analyzed the strategic significance of the multi-billion-dollar deals signed between the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. These agreements take place in a highly specific context, as part of Trump’s international strategy and the broader MAGA movement, which adopts a transactional approach aimed at advancing U.S. political and economic interests.

The visit, continued Prof. Narbone, was also an opportunity to revive the Abraham Accords in Saudi Arabia. Trump’s visit, he concluded, appears as an attempt to redesign the broader regional order.
