Put your competences to the test
About the Capstone Project
The capstone project is a mandatory part of the Master’s curriculum worth 8 ETCS. It integrates and applies the knowledge acquired by the students throughout the programme and builds on the study visits to the partner institutions in Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, and Spain.
In this project, students will form a consulting unit of 3 members and jointly work on a timely issue in the broader Mediterranean region in coordination with a host organization. The working group will choose a specific research problem, design the research, conduct an analysis of the problem, and issue recommendations on how to solve it.
Each working group will work with two advisers, one from the host organization and another from the university. The host organization will provide students with the background and context of the problem they aim to address, and the academic adviser will support them in designing the research and using the appropriate methodology to address the problem.
The capstone project is a real-world, problem-solving experience and is therefore multidisciplinary in nature. By bringing together students of different academic and professional backgrounds, it motivates them to think innovatively on how to manage projects, time, leadership, and work.
Work on the Capstone Project
The capstone project will run throughout the duration of the program. Students will work on their projects on a part-time basis alongside their other full-time academic activities. During the first semester, students will complete the research proposal for the capstone project and submit it by February 2025.
During the second semester, they will focus on implementing the project and conducting the research between March and June 2025. All work will be done in close coordination with both host organization and academic advisers.
