Objectives

The program aims to equip the diplomats with the skills to operate confidently in bilateral and multilateral environments, enhancing their multicultural analytical capabilities. The program also promotes knowledge-exchange between African diplomats and European experts.

By the end of the program, African diplomats will have an understanding of key global issues, advanced insights into European Union institutions and policies – especially with regards to Italy’s role – and enhanced multicultural, analytical skills and critical thinking.

On the long-term, the program aims to build a pan-African and Italo-African community of diplomats and practitioners dedicated to fostering peace, security, and sustainable development.

Participants will be awarded a “Executive First Level Master in Global Public Diplomacy and Sustainable Development” by Luiss School of Government and UNITAR with associated 60 ECTS should they comply with the following requirements:

  • Regular attendance (at least 80%) at the academic activities of the Master (online and in-presence in Rome), guaranteeing punctual arrival and full attendance of classes to be verified on an ongoing basis;
  • Positive results of all tests, exams and the final project work.

Only diplomats coming from African countries and currently based on their own country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs or posted at AU, IGADD, ECOWAS and SADC can apply
